Shattered

Shattered - C.C. Brown Read this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!Shattered is an emotional journey towards healing, with captivating characters, a thoughtful romance, and an engaging story.I rarely reference other reviews in my own but there seems to be so much conflict in the way readers feel about Dallis. I certainly respect everyone’s opinions; I just want to throw mine in there. So many people seem to dislike Dallis. Dallis is damaged, a shell. But it’s not her fault; both of her parents died tragically, at a time when she still hasn’t figured out who she is or what she really wants out of life. I suppose she could be seen as cold and bitchy, but I just didn’t see her that way. I admired her strength and determination to move on with her life. I completely understood why she dealt with Colby the way she did; she needed to stand on her own two feet and not depend on his money. Yes, she’s very flawed, broken even. But personally, I found her character relatable and honest. (And for the record: I hated Colby, the pompous ass. I wanted him gone.)Enter Grayson. I’m a sucker for tattoos and blue eyes. I get all fuzzy and and can’t think straight. Fortunately, Dallis is more guarded than I am. She takes more time and convincing, leading to a well paced romance that takes time and thought to build and develop. There was an underlying heat and chemistry but the connection was forged on real emotion and the result is a very real romance, real healing, a real story, and a real ending; no cliffhangers here, folks *I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Unbreak Me

Unbreak Me - Lexi Ryan See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!I truly enjoyed this book: one of those reads where my fiancé walks in on me reading and jokes, “I hope Amazon will replace that Kindle for water damage…” It’s not that it’s an overly emotional tear-jerker, but that the characters are so real, and their emotions so palpable, that I couldn’t help but become emotionally involved. When Maggie Thompson returns to the tiny midwestern town she grew up in, it’s with a determination to become the ‘New Maggie’, to abandon a broken past and the emotional damage and instability that follows her like a dark cloud. However, with constant reminders of her haunted past around every corner, and dark secrets she keeps hidden inside, finding a way towards a new life and a brighter future seems impossible. I felt so strongly for Maggie’s character. She is burdened with a past she didn’t deserve, secrets too deep for someone so young, and some serious self-loating and emotional baggage. She puts up a shield, keeping everyone out, using her sexuality and reputation to push away anyone who may actually care for her.“I don’t want her to shut me out tonight, so I turn to her and out my hands agains the car, pinning her in.Her eyes change in an instant. The sorrow fades, swallowed up into that part of her that holds the rest of her secrets. Just as quickly, awareness flashes in its place. Her eyes turn hot.I want her. Want to hold her. Want to feel her. Want to get inside and see what she is so desperate to protect. And I know the last is what she’ll resist the most, but I’ll start here.” Enter Asher Logan, the rich, mysterious former rockstar with a dark past of his own. He sees Maggie’s beauty and intense sexuality, but also the broken girl behind the facade. As he courts her, he slowly breaks down her walls, piece by piece. He accepts her for who she is, and helps her to find a way towards becoming a stronger person, all while his feelings for her intensify. He treats her with such protectiveness and understanding, but never becomes a weak character. His presence is always strong, sexy, dominant, occasionally jealous, and totally HOT.“He rubs the inside of my plan. Soft. Gentle. This man may look rough with his tattoos and piercings, but there is nothing rough about the way he treats me. And, where the violence that flashed in his eyes didn’t scare me, this gentleness does.” If I had to choose one word to describe Maggie and Asher’s journey, it would be intense. Intense emotion, intense sexual chemistry, intense pain. The type of intensity that occurs when two people meet, the course of their lives is forever altered, and everything that happened before just doesn’t seem that important any more, now that the future seems to have so much possibility…“We find our rhythm like that. Asher never taking his eyes form mine as he moves with me under the light of the waxing moon. Me, flooded with emotion spilling from my newly wakened heart. Because I’m not a virgin. And I’m not in love. But this is all new to me. Here With Asher in the moonlight, rough and hungry and dangerous. Exposed. This is making love.” Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely. A story of dark, secretive, complicated pasts and the potential for healing and redemption that only comes from truth. A story about those who are lucky enough to be loved, even when they can’t find any love within themselves. The characters are multi-dimensional, flawed, and relatable. The story-telling is beautiful and engrossing, with seamless changes to multiple POV’s, plenty of angst and drama, and well-timed revelations of secrets and twists. Though there was a time when it seemed all was lost, but I was rewarded with an extremely satisfying, heartfelt conclusion. *I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Dangerously Yours: 2 (Loving Dangerously)

Dangerously Yours - A.M. Griffin See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!A fantastically erotic, romantic, and entertaining journey to a galaxy far, far, away! Human space pirates, totally sexy aliens, intergalactic political intrigue, and the right combination of heartbreak and drama make this Sci-Fi Erotic Romance a great read!Even though the book is sic-fi, I’m not sure that being a fan of science fiction is a requirement for enjoying this book. Though many of the characters are alien, most in this story resemble humans, have many human characteristics, including a full-range of human feeling and emotions. It’s these emotions (combined with a healthy dose of physical attraction) that forge a connection between Kane and Sa’Mya. They are so entirely different in so many ways, but both have experienced heart-breaking loss and are unfortunate victims of circumstance. At its heart, this story is about two characters’ journeys to overcome their differences and find a path towards healing and ultimately the love they both deserve. Kane and Sa’Mya have fantastic sexual chemistry and share some very steamy scenes, as do other characters in the story; this book is HOT!Though this is the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. I haven’t read the first book, Dangerously Mine, but after reading this book, it definitely has a place on my TBR list *I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Tempted: The Dark Hart Chronicles (Book 1)

Tempted - Alexandra Anthony See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!“His voice tapered off and the intensity between us hummed. His fingertips inched closer until they brushed against my wrist softly. The moment our skin met, a jolt of scorching desire darted through me. I’d never had this sort of response to a man’s touch before. It was exhilarating… and equally terrifying.”And this is only the first touch… it only gets hotter from here. Here it is: I am utterly, devastatingly, and hopelessly in love (AND LUST!) with Nick Hart. Not only is he a devilishly handsome and sexy rock star, complete with a body to die for, an illuminating smile, wit, charm, and even humility, he is a vampire. A dark, possessive, yet emotionally vulnerable, in touch with his humanity, sexually brilliant vampire. Here’s my incredibly difficult dilemma: he is hopelessly, head-over-heels in love with Savannah Wood; and she is perfect for him. Beautiful, smart, cheeky, with equal parts toughness and vulnerability, and an amazingly easy acceptance of Nick’s dangerous, immortal nature, I certainly don’t stand a chance. A girl can dream right? Oh, and I will…“His fingers gripped my chin softly, looking me in the eyes. ‘Honestly, I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks. I’m tired of playing around because I want to know every inch of you. And once I know it, I want to learn it all over again. Repeatedly and frequently.’ “I loved this book. I absolutely can not get enough of Nick and Savannah. I relished in the evolution of their relationship; the initial slow build fraught with electric sexual tension, the first touches, the fantastic first sexual explorations. When Nick’s condition comes to light, it gets much more intense. Extreme emotion and trust come to the forefront as the couple fights to break down their barriers and come to terms with what is quickly becoming undeniable: they love each other and can not live without one another. And through it all, the sex only gets HOTTER! These two are so hot together, and the scenes have so many layers: fantastically erotic, emotionally intense, and unforgettable.

His Clockwork Canary: The Glorious Victorious Darcys

His Clockwork Canary - Beth Ciotta See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!As a fan of both Steampunk and Romance, His Clockwork Canary is absolutely everything I could have asked for. It has that steampunk “tone”, a bit Victorian and a bit modern, clever and inventive; a pleasing combination of light-heartedness tinged just enough with darker elements.Ciotta expertly creates a fantasy setting, serving as a backdrop for an engaging and adventurous plot. I had so much fun reading Willie and Simon’s story. They are each well realized characters, with pasts, secrets, and ambitions for the future. When their paths collide, there’s oodles of chemistry, plenty of steamy scenes, and the prospect that their lives may be forever changed in the best ways possible.A story told with creative charm and filled with adventure, delightful fantasy, and sizzling romance, I adore this book. I would consider it a must-read for fans of steampunk romance, and a fantastic place to start if you are new to the genre!“Willie relished the heady feeling of power as she ever-so-slowly loosened the front lacing of her corseted bodice. She reveled in Simon’s frustrated groan as her fingers glided over the satin ribbons, as the décolletage slipped lower, revealing more of her breasts. When he rose up and reached out, she knocked away his hands. “No touching”.His raunchy muttered curse worked like an aphrodisiac. Never had she been so wanton, so scandalous.”*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Once Upon A Twist

Once Upon A Twist - Aimee Duffy, Michelle Smart See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.comTwo clever, romantic and sexy fairytale re-tellings, each unique and entertaining in its own right; Oh, and ZOMBIES!!! Because I love fairytales and zombie books with kick-ass heroines, this pair of stories is right up my alley! The first story is a re-telling of Cinderella, written in more of a “classic” fairytale style: complete with castles, a fairy godmother, a pumpkin carriage, and the handsome Prince Charming. And did I mention zombies?!? I just love Ella in this story! Instead of acting the delicate flower this time period requires, she stands up to the men, the knights, and her Prince, and kicks some zombie ass… and this only endears her more to her handsome betrothed.“No wonder all the women he had met before her had bored him to tears. Marriage to Ella might be a headache but at least it would never be boring.”The second story, a modern re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood is a bit darker and gorier. Jeremy and Ruby, past loves that still have strong feelings for one another, must fight a zombie-wolf and multiple undead. When tragedy strikes they must confront a dark past and an uncertain future, in order to save each other and have a second chance at love. I love this couple and thoroughly enjoyed their journey back into each other’s arms.“And he was falling, deeper in love with her, so fast and hard he couldn’t stop it. He knew as heat flooded down his spine and spread through his balls that their next separation would cost him, but he accepted that. This was about her, giving Ruby what she needed. If his heart had to shatter all over again then he’d deal with it. It was no less than he deserved.”Both sexy stories are packed with intense action and romance (and zombies!) I highly recommend this two-for-one special on grown-up fairytales.*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

iFeel: Book 1 of the Vis Vires Trilogy

iFeel: Book 1 of the Vis Vires Trilogy - Marissa Carmel See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!This is unique and intriguing paranormal romance, about a couple with a connection so heated, it “burns” the pages It is a story about love, redemption, and second chances.Liv is trapped, debilitated by what she believes to be a crippling mental illness. What she doesn’t realize is that she is actually a powerful empath, one of a long line of supernatural royalty thought to be extinct… until now. Enter the incredibly sexy Justice, who must protect her from the Spirit Stalker that threatens her life. Their chemistry is nearly immediate…“His Caribbean blue eyes are acutely curious, glittery, and wondrous, and it feels like I am drowning in his gaze. He stares back at me, as if soaking up every inch. I can’t help but gawk. I’ve never seen anyone so divine.”Justice is a hero any girl would fall for, and Liv included. He is beautiful, strong, sexy, and protective. But he is also damaged, haunted by a past he is reminded of every single day.As Liv struggles with her new life and new identity, she slowly begins to gain control over her powers, and with that her life. With a satisfyingly slow build, Justice and Liv’s relationship deepens, tinged with intense longing and desire, often complicated and tumultuous, but ultimately warm satisfying. I couldn’t help but root for this couple with a very uncertain future, who offer each other a very real chance at healing and love.Despite a few editing issues this is a solid first book in a series: it has an engaging paranormal aspect, an interesting cast of paranormal characters, and plenty of action and suspense. Though it has a defined ending, it is clear that there is much more to this story. I am eager to see where Justice and Liv’s relationship takes them, as well as the opportunity to delve deeper in to a supernatural world that we have only scratched the surface of."Forget denying love, I can never deny myself of him. From the moment I laid eyes on him, I was his. He consumes every part of me, and I surrender, knowing full well all I need is to simply love him, no matter what."*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Feeling Death (The Death Trilogy #1)

Feeling Death (The Death Trilogy #1) - D.T. Dyllin See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!Who am I, where am I, and WTF happened? Dark, gritty, and sexually charged, Feeling Death is an engaging read with a very unique concept. From the first sentence, I was intrigued… and confused… and based on the author’s style, pretty sure I was going to be entertained. I was not disappointed. The plot has so many twists, turns, flashbacks, flash-forwards, and cartwheels, I was reeling a bit, but hopelessly hooked on the story. The author takes her time in unfolding the story, and answering the reader’s (and the characters’) questions, managing to impart information at critical moments: keeping this complicated plot flowing smoothly.I’m not in love with Sam’s character, but I don’t need to be. Even though she’s an empath, she’s real and relatable and I felt a connection to her story just the same. In some ways she’s just a girl… with some problems. She’s battling demons, real and imagined(?), has a powerful supernatural gift, makes mistakes, and shows both vulnerability and strength. She’s fortunate enough to have two very sexy love interests in Nixon and Austin. Nixon is the steadfast protector and Austin the irresistibly sexy but dangerous bad-boy. I won’t spoil who she chooses to spend most of her time with but their sex scenes certainly steam up the pages! The supernatural elements to the story are very well done. There were times, especially early on, where I couldn’t decide whether I was reading paranormal suspense or a twisted psychological thriller: I love that I was constantly guessing. This is an imaginative and intense read, twisty and sexy, with an ending that grants some closure, but leaves the reader eager for a next book in the series.“But I had no fight left in me. How can you fight for something when you don’t even know what you’re fighting for? I had so many unanswered question. My life, my memories were all unclear to me. Before I could fight for myself, or anyone else, I had to get the answers to who I really was. And at this point, I didn’t really care where they came from just as long as I got them.”*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The Last Hour

The Last Hour - Charles Sheehan-Miles 5, 10, 150 Stars... It really doesn't matter. It seems trite to categorize Ray and Carrie's story with stars. I am dazzled, humbled, and my heart is shattered.Full review soon..."...he was the love of your life. That he was a hero. That in the end, he did the right thing, even though it cost him everything"

Lightning Rider

Lightning Rider - Jen Greyson See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!Original, exciting, and action-packed with a kick-ass heroine and a super-sexy alpha male. I really enjoyed this book!Evy, a welder and motorcycle builder, is at a low point in her life when she discovers she is the only female in a long line of “Lightning Riders” or time-travelers. It is the very difficult job of a Lightning Rider to travel through time and change the future for the better. Quite a daunting task! Evy shows great strength and courage, and with some coaxing takes the challenge head-on. The author cleverly gives the reader glimpses into Evy’s head and her often humorous inner-dialogue, adding another layer to the story and Evy’s character.Traveling to ancient Spain, Evy discovers her destiny, which includes Constantine. A super-sexy ancient warrior, his and Evy’s relationship is fraught with delicious and electric sexual tension. I enjoyed the relationship between these strong characters. She is not a damsel in distress; he sees her strength and trains her to be even stronger. The author did a fantastic job of creating a connection between Evy and Constantine; a chemistry that is greater than time and space. The beginning of the story is a bit difficult to grasp at first. There is a lot of information thrown at the reader. It’s necessary to simply suspend disbelief and go with it; I’m glad that I did! I was rewarded with a clever and exciting page-turner, an interesting cast of characters, and the potential for an epic series.*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Distorted

Distorted - Laura Dunaway See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!3.5 StarsA solid debut, a story that many readers will enjoy, especially fans of the complicated love triangle.Angst, emotion, and drama permeate the pages of this book. Aly is faced with an extremely difficult decision. The man she has desired for sometime has finally fallen for her, but betrays her in a horrible way. She still has feelings for him but has also developed feelings for her handsome and steadfast best friend. We follow Aly as she navigates tumultuous emotional waters on her way to making her choice: a difficult love triangle and a difficult choice. I am nearly always a fan of the bad boy, the dangerous choice. But in this instance, I surprised myself and fell for the best friend.I particularly enjoyed the philanthropic aspects of the plot. Apart from the drama of the love triangle, there is a great story there all on its own. Despite the struggles in their personal lives, the characters share a common goal of helping the less fortunate. The story has some great moments: there’s moments of humor, warmth, and tenderness, moments of intense emotion, a shocking “h*** s**t” moment, and some very steamy scenes. I was definitely intrigued. There were times that the dialogue was a bit stilted and Aly’s character, though real and relatable, wasn’t my favorite. Overall, Distorted is a good read, an angsty love story with a satisfying finish.“I traced my hand along his cheek, and saw the love burning in his hazel eyes. I had no doubt he meant what he said and I was upset with myself for not being able to give him what he wanted, yet. When I was around him, the electricity was so intense, so magnetic. I owed it to myself to figure out who exactly it was I wanted. The problem was, how long would that take?”*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Bella Key

Bella Key - Scarlet Chastain Click Here to read this review and a guest post from the author: Why she writes F/F Romance "For Women, About Women".A quick, easy, and breezy read, Bella Key is a warm, sexy, emotional, and heartfelt romance. When Maddie takes a quickie vacation to Bella Key, she has no idea that her life is about to change forever, and her secret fantasies are about to come true.Chastain does a beautiful job of creating the chemistry between two women. There’s an easy friendship and connection, tinged with plenty of sexual longing and desire. It isn’t long before Maddie and Sunny act on their growing feelings for one another, resulting in beautifully written, sensual and passionate love scenes. The story itself is entertaining and engaging, with a dash of humor, plenty of romance, and just enough conflict: brought on by Maddie’s questioning of her own desires and sexual identity. The setting is beautiful and magical, a place where people go to find contentment and their true selves. People like famous romance author Jules Quigley, whose character I absolutely adore, and just so happens to hold the key to Sunny and Maddie’s future. A lovely HEA tops off a story to be enjoyed by all romance fans.” ‘Feelings and emotions can’t always be placed neatly in little boxes. Straight and gay are simply labels we place upon ourselves. Happiness is what we all strive for. Open your mind to what and who makes you happy.’ “*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Trust: A New Beginning: 1

Trust: A New Beginning: 1 - Cristiane Serruya See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!WOW! What an emotional roller coaster! Trust took me for quite an amazing ride; I couldn’t put it down. The story is beautifully told in such exquisite detail, I felt I was with the characters: Living in their amazing homes and traveling to luxurious European locations in a plush private jet. And yet, I did not feel alienated by the characters’ extreme wealth. They remained accessible, their tragedies, triumphs and emotions real, palpable, and relatable: it did not interfere with their humanity. Serruya shows that even the most privileged are not immune to darkness, loneliness, and despair. As did nearly every man she comes in to contact with, I fell in love with Sophia. She’s brilliant, stylish, stunningly beautiful, and a survivor. I wanted nothing more for her to find love and happiness, and after struggling to end an abusive and controlling relationship with Ethan, I was thrilled when Alistair came in to the picture. I may be in love with Sophia, but I’m certainly in lust with the super-sexy Alistair: handsome, rugged, dark, and dominating with a rare but present soft side. Serruya creates absolutely explosive chemistry between Sophia and Alistair from the moment that they meet. Throughout the entire book, she writes scenes that are incredibly emotionally charged, and I was often left breathless and stunned. When Sophia and Alistair were alone together the first time, I thought I might pass out! Their respective pasts bring many conflicts to their relationship, further complicated by Alistair’s possessiveness and his desire for a submissive, a need which Sophia fears she can not fulfill. This book has so many elements: completely engaging characters, sizzling romance, achingly intense sex scenes, plenty of drama, touching stories of heart-breaking tragedy and loss, and a the chance for healing and redemption. Along with all of this is an intriguing plot that is just getting started; Sophia’s past is not gone and the journey is just beginning. I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter in this saga!“The power she had over him: intoxicating, terrifying, and glorious. Instead of stopping him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and moved her breasts toward the scorching heat of his chest. She rubbed against him to quench a wild thirst she had never acknowledged before. She felt caught in the middle of a storm she couldn’t control. Alistair’s deep groan transmitted the longing he felt. Longing for her body, longing for her soul.”*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
The Beast's Redemption - Angelia Almos, Angie Derek See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!Shifters, witches, curses and potions all play a role in this quick and sexy paranormal romance. The story is intriguing, grabbing the reader’s attention right away, and holding it until the final, satisfying pages.Alexander and Belle’s fateful meeting has been a long time coming, brought together by a curse placed on Alexander, well before Belle was even born. He needs to be released from his curse and believes she holds the key. What he doesn’t realize is that she may in fact be the key. Both Belle and Alexander are likable characters, victims of circumstance. Rather than lament their seemingly unfortunate situations, they both avoid self-pity and instead show great strength: unwilling to give up on themselves and ultimately each other. They author creates immediate and intense chemistry between these two, resulting in some HOT sex scenes, and a sweet, sensual and spicy romance.I thoroughly enjoyed this book but would have loved to spend more time with the characters and get a bit more background on the story: To know more about Alexander’s and Belle’s family histories. There seems to be so much story there and I would love to experience it all.“Rightness filled him as he looked at her in his domain. He wasn’t surprised how quickly the desire grew, but the dark circles under her eyes brought out another feeling in him. Tenderness.”*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

As You Wish

As You Wish - A. Violet End See this review and more at www.tattooedbookreview.com!Truth #1: I have never gotten over my childhood love of fairytales.Truth #2: I love sexy stories and steamy romance.Truth #3: With a unique and creative take on a classic, As You Wish offers the lyrical voice and tone of a beloved fairy tale, beautiful and surprising romances, all with a very sexy twist.I adore the author's take on the classic Cinderella: she adds her own unique elements, brings in well known characters from other fairy tales, putting it all together into an exciting and engaging fantasy with just enough smut.I particularly enjoyed the unlikely, sometimes sweet, and often tumultuous romance between Annora and Charming. As much as Annora is a a classic fairy tale princess, Charming is far from the handsome prince. In this story, the hero is quite unexpected. All of the elements are present: evil demoness step-sisters, a handsome prince in need of a wife, a beautiful ball, and glass slippers. But this story has so much more: a very real and emotional romance, steamy sex, an action-packed climax, and a clever, unexpected, but incredibly satisfying happily-ever-after."Love is it's own cruel magic," he said. "Blessing for some, curse for others. Magic wouldn't be magic if we knew why it worked."The little man clapped his hands, and she felt her feet warming. Beneath the many layers of skirts, she saw the high-heeled slippers: fine as winter's frost on glass, but hard as crystal. "Made of my own tears?" she said. "Love is a cruel magic, indeed."*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Marooned with the Millionaire

Marooned with the Millionaire - Sandra Bunino Visit www.tattooedbookreview.com for this review and more!Decadent, escapist, beautifully romantic, and achingly sexy; a reading vacation that made me reluctant to go home. From their very first meeting there is a sizzling and undeniable chemistry between Jason and Stephanie. They are a couple you root for, complementing each other so well, and each offering the other a chance to heal from damaging past relationships. Ghosts from their respective pasts crop up and threaten the budding romance, adding just enough drama and intrigue to keep the story interesting.Bunino has an ability to create stunning backdrops to her stories, and this is no exception. From Miami to Vegas, she crafts richly opulent hotels and villas, the perfect settings for romance and always well-written and super-steamy erotica.Complete with a satisfying happily ever after, this is a fabulous, sexy, and unforgettable book vacation." 'Stef, I know that you don't do things like this. I'll leave right now. Just say the word. But I assure you that is you want to continue down this path tonight, you will not regret it. Never for a moment will you regret it.'Stephanie considered her options.
